Orders & customer account

How do I order from Morgenland?

Add your rug to the basket, go to checkout, enter your delivery and billing address and choose a payment method. Once your order is complete, you will receive an order confirmation by email.

Do I need a customer account?

No, you can also order as a guest. With a customer account you can see your orders at a glance and change your address and password yourself.

I have not received an order confirmation – what now?

Please check your spam folder first. If you cannot find the email there, our customer service team will be happy to help.

Where do I enter a discount code?

You will find the field for discount codes in the checkout. Please check the exact spelling; the discount is then deducted directly from the total.

How do I know whether a rug is available?

You can see the availability on the product page. Many hand-knotted rugs are one-of-a-kind pieces and exist only once. If an item is sold out, you can sign up to be notified as soon as it is available again.

I have forgotten my password – what can I do?

Use “Forgot password?” when logging in. You will then receive an email with a link to reset it.

Payment

Which payment methods do you offer?

Common payment methods such as PayPal (including “Pay Later”), credit card and Klarna (including invoice) are generally available; the checkout shows the exact selection. You will find an overview under Payment & shipping.

Can I pay by invoice?

Yes, depending on your country, via Klarna or PayPal “Pay Later”. There is no direct invoice purchase with Morgenland.

Shipping & delivery

How much does shipping cost?

Shipping costs depend on the destination country. Our shipping cost calculator shows the costs for your country.

How long does delivery take?

You can see the expected delivery time on the product page and in the checkout. Details on standard shipping can be found under Payment & shipping.

Which carriers do you use?

Depending on size and destination, we ship with parcel carriers such as DHL, DPD or UPS, or by freight forwarder.

Can I track my delivery?

Yes. As soon as your order is on its way, you will receive a shipping confirmation with a tracking link.

Do you deliver to PO boxes?

No. Delivery requires a personal handover, so we cannot deliver to PO box addresses.

Do you deliver internationally?

Yes, Morgenland ships to many countries. Our shipping cost calculator shows the shipping costs for each country.

How is my rug packed?

Depending on its size, rolled or folded and in recyclable material, so that it reaches you safely.

Returns & exchanges

Can I return a rug if I do not like it?

Yes. We offer a 31-day return policy. You will find the conditions and deadlines on the 31-day returns page and the return costs for your country in our shipping cost calculator; any statutory rights that apply to your order are set out in our cancellation policy.

How do I register a return?

Send us an email with your order number to mail@morgenland-teppiche.de; you will receive your return label by email. Alternatively, use our online withdrawal form.

Can I exchange an item?

A direct exchange is not possible for system reasons. Please order the item you want again and return the other one separately.

When will I get my money back?

The refund is made to your original payment method once your return has arrived and been checked. The 31-day returns page describes the process.

What should I do if an item is faulty or the wrong item was delivered?

Please send us an email with a photo. After checking, we will replace the item or refund the purchase price; in this case we cover the shipping costs.

Choosing a rug

Which rug size suits my living room?

Use the seating area as a guide: the rug should at least carry the front legs of the sofa and armchairs. Common sizes are 170 x 240 cm and 200 x 300 cm.

Which rug is suitable under a dining table?

Allow roughly 60–70 cm extra around the table so that the chairs stay on the rug when pushed back. Flatweave or short-pile rugs let chairs glide easily.

What is the difference between hand-knotted and hand-woven?

With hand-knotted rugs every knot is tied individually; the denser the knotting, the finer the pattern. Hand-woven rugs are made on a loom, are flatter and are often reversible.

Which materials are available?

Among others new wool, kork wool, silk, viscose, cotton, natural fibres such as jute and sisal, and easy-care synthetic qualities. Silk adds sheen and allows particularly fine patterns. Find out more in our materials guide.

Are the rugs suitable for underfloor heating?

Many models are suitable for this. Look for the note “suitable for underfloor heating” on the product page.

Does the colour match the product photo?

We photograph every rug as true to colour as possible. Differences may arise from screen settings.

Why does an oriental rug look lighter or darker depending on the viewing angle?

Because of the knotting direction, every oriental rug has a lighter and a darker side. With lustrous materials such as silk the effect is particularly noticeable.

What determines the value of an oriental rug?

Above all knot density, material, origin, craftsmanship and design. Many criteria come together in the assessment.

Do you offer made-to-measure rugs?

Yes, on request we have rugs made in the size and material of your choice. Find out more under Custom rugs. Please note the information on made-to-measure items on the 31-day returns page.

Care & cleaning

How do I care for my rug day to day?

Vacuum the rug regularly in the direction of the pile without a rotating brush and turn it occasionally so that it wears evenly. Blot stains immediately with an absorbent cloth without rubbing.

Do you offer professional rug cleaning?

Yes. We accept cleaning requests via our rug cleaning page; the cleaning is carried out by our partner Hamburg Teppichreinigung in its own workshop. Within Germany this includes pick-up and delivery; from abroad you can send your rug to us.

Do you also repair rugs?

Yes. Send us a photo of the affected area to mail@morgenland-teppiche.de and you will receive a non-binding cost estimate. Find out more under rug repair.
