Material Guide

Boundless variety – materials and their special properties

Not sure which material to choose?

To help you answer this question, we present the most important materials in the rug industry and their respective properties. Wool is the most common – but not all wool is the same. In the strict sense, wool refers to virgin wool from sheep. However, there are also other animal, plant-based and synthetic fibres, each with their own distinct properties. Depending on the base material, the feel, durability, care requirements and appearance can differ significantly.
