These carpets are knotted in the city of Rudbar in northwest Persia. They belong to the Hamedan carpet family. Rudbar carpets are mostly relatively fine and natural looking carpets. The variety of patterns is very broad. Older carpets are usually characterised by a light or dark blue ground dominated by a large hexagon, with a variety of flowers in the centre. They are usually very colourful and the wool is of good quality. The carpets have a very good price-quality ratio.
